Next Sunday’s Readings:
April 28, 2024 FIFTH SUNDAY OF EASTER
Acts 9: 26 – 31.
1 John 3: 18 – 24.
John 15: 1 – 8 (53).
The images that Jesus used give a clear picture of our relationship with Him. “I am the vine, you are the branches.” We know that the life that is in the vine is the same life that is in the branches. The closer a limb is to the vine, the stronger it is. If a branch is separated from the vine, it dies. Is not the image of the vine and the branches a wonderful image of our relationship with Jesus? His life is in all of us! We call it sanctifying grace. The closer that we stay to the Lord, the stronger we are when temptation and difficulties come. We need to get closer and closer to the source of life and grace. If we are separated from Jesus, we die. However, the Lord can bring us back to be connected with Him.
