  1. What is a Donation?
A Donation, when referred to in canon law in the Roman Catholic Church, is defined as the gratuitous transfer to another of some right or thing. When it consists in placing in the hands of the donee some movable object it is known as a gift of hand (donum manuale, an offering or oblatio, an alms).
  2. How much should I donate?
All Christian stewards must consider prayerfully the gifts they have received from God, and they should make a decision (in advance from the “first fruits” instead of what is left over after obligations have been met) about what will be given.
  3. What if I want to start using my bank account for automatic payments?
You can. Just click the (Download) button below and download Saint Columba Catholic Church Automatic Payment of Contributions form. Fill in all areas, attach a voided check from the account to be debited for your payment, and take them to our Parish Office next to the church or mail it to:
    St. Columba Parish Center
    342 Iron Street
    Bloomsburg, PA 17815-1824

Anyone already having their donation directly withdrawn from their checking accounts is encouraged to continue doing so.
  4. What if I want to continue using my weekly envelopes?
If you already have set up automated donations to the church directly through your bank, or if you prefer to donate with envelopes in person, you absolutely do not need to make any changes. This is simply an additional way to contribute, in response to requests for an automated online option.
