Q’s from the Pews: Can a sense of discipleship be taught? May 31, 2026
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28: 19-20
The heart of discipleship is growing in faith so we can confidently share our love of Jesus and His Church. Our parish continues to offer ways to develop discipleship, both through education, challenges, and other programs listed in the bulletin and online.
As disciples of Christ, we are called to bring others to Him through the witness of our daily lives. I’ll be offering the “Evangelization at the Water Cooler”—a three-hour session on Saturday, June 27—to explore how to share your faith in everyday conversation. This was very popular last time, and I encourage you to join us again.
Keep watch for the upcoming launch of Discipleship Quads, small groups designed to strengthen faith and energize discipleship. We anticipate beginning in September, 2026.
Finally, this year so far, we have brought 11 people into the Church through OCIA and currently have 8 in formation. I’ll be taking a summer break from writing Q’s from the Pews, but our openness to the Holy Spirit never pauses. If you know someone curious about the Catholic faith—or simply about God—please send them my way anytime. They can begin the process today!
Have a blessed and joyful summer! — Jim Gregory, DRE
