Rorate Mass Saturday, December 20 at 6:45 am

  • We will have a special Advent Mass called the Rorate Mass, with Gregorian Chant at 6:45 am.
  • This is a special, ancient Catholic Advent tradition honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary, celebrated before dawn in near-total darkness, with the church lit only by candles.
  • This Mass begins in darkness before sunrise to remind us of a world in darkness and sin that is anticipating the coming of the Light of the World. It is named after the first words of the Introit, Rorate caeli, desuper (“Drop down dew, ye heavens”).
  • All are welcome!
  • We have candles for everyone, or you can bring one. Please be aware that there will be no artificial lighting in the church, only candelight.
