Ash Wednesday is February 18

ASH WEDNESDAY occurs this Wednesday, February 22. Masses, during which ashes will be blessed and distributed, will be celebrated at 6:30 a.m., 8:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.  It is a day of abstinence. Abstinence means that Catholics of age 14 or older abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, and the Fridays of Lent. It is also a day of fast. Fast means that Catholics from ages 18 to 59 limit themselves to one full meal and two smaller meals on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday.
