As you may have heard, effective immediately and until further notice, Bishop Gainer, in union with the other Bishops of Pennsylvania, has dispensed the faithful of the Diocese of Harrisburg from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass. This dispensation is a preventative measure to minimize the spreading of the flu and the coronavirus.
Please be aware that all regularly scheduled Masses at St. Columba Church will be celebrated. However, those who are currently ill, the elderly, and those with a compromised immune system should consider remaining home. If you make the decision to stay home, consider watching Mass on television and praying at home so that you can still keep holy the Lord’s Day. Pray that there will be a quick and effective end to the coronavirus.
All are dispensed from this Sunday obligation. If you decide to attend Mass, be careful in your contact with others. Know also that we have disinfected the church and our doing our best to keep the worship area sanitized. We will continue to update you on our website, https://saintcolumbachurch.org/, as well as the Diocesan Coronavirus information page, https://hbgdiocese.org/coronavirus/.
This pandemic coronavirus has caused much anxiety in all of us. Remember, however, that the Lord is with us and will help us through this trying situation. God will bless us all!
