We have the most amazing teens.  20 teens battled snowy weather to work the soup kitchen at United Wesley Methodist Church in Bloom.  Every one worked hard,  cooking the food, serving the food,  setting the tables, offering dessert and drinks...interacting with the people.  We ended the day with a competitive game of Ninja.  God bless them each and every one!!!!

Pictures are from the Color Run at the Town Park on July 9.  Come be a part of our Life Teen Youth Ministry.

Life Teen welcomed the 8th graders on May 1 with a Life Night called "Family Portrait".  The 8th graders were invited to bring their parents so that everyone could meet the CORE team and the older Life Teeners.  The Life Teen room was packed as we enjoyed good food, faith and fellowship...and fun...did I mention fun?  We had lots of "get-to-know-you" activities and shared much laughter.  We ended with a prayer circle and anticipation in meeting again soon.

Life Teen Kick-Off:  "Office Olympics"!

Lots of faith, fun, and fellowship at our kick off to the 3rd year of the Life Teen youth ministry.  Awards were given for the best dressed office attire and the best tasting and best looking office snack.  We also awarded a prize for a "guess the jelly bean" jar.  1st, 2nd, and 3rd place medals were awared for the winners of the Olympic Games which included, but, not limited to...

1/Pencil Grab

2/ Trashcan Basketball

3/ Paper Triangle Football Flick

5/  Dunkerball

6/ Coffee Run

Listed below is the schedule for the first semester of Life Teen 2015-2016 (August to December).

The highlighted titles are Catechesis nights and some of them have a parents' night attached.  We HIGHLY ENCOURAGE all parents to attend the parents' nights!!  They will help you to better understand the Church's teachings on sexuality and answer any questions that your teens may have regarding the Theology of the Body series.  They run at the same time as the Teens' Life Nights, but, are held in the Maximillian Kolbe room in the Parish Center.   All Life Nights begin at 7 and end at 9, unless otherwise noted.

Holiness Hike - Blessed Oscar Romero

Another inspiring, fun holiness hike at Ricketts Glenn.  Life Teen's hike this year was dedicated to Bl. Oscar Romero.  John Flynn led us in highlighting areas of Romero's life and some meditations along the way. The weather was beautiful --- not a rain cloud in site!  Good food, great fellowship, and a good amount of holy healthy exercise!!!

RETREAT - March 21, 2015

A great retreat on Saturday, March 21.  We were a small, but, might crowd. Fr. Brian Dinkel of the Institute of the Incarnate Word led us in some very insightful talks.  We played lots of fun games, including Hungry Hippo. Confession, Mass, and a very beautiful holy hour with Fr. Brian leading us in meditations on the gaze of Christ.

Save the date for next year:  April 2, 2016e

JPll HOLINESS HIKE - July 13, 2014

JPll hike yesterday with 30 teens from St. Columba, St Joseph, Danville, and St. Patrick, Carlisle.  "Captain" John Flynn was our official tour guide.  We started off with Mass,  followed by a hoagie lunch and some ice breakers at St. Columba.  We were blessed to have Monsignor Lawrence and 3 Harrisburg seminarians with us all day.  Many CORE and summer CORE team members from both St. Pat's and St. Columba helped with meditations , food, drinks, and games.  The teens were awesome!  Eager to participate, fun- loving and certainly up to the hike challenge.  We began at exactly 3 pm - God's plan, not ours - and JPll interceded to hold off the storm until after dinner.  Thank you to all who participated in the day.  The perfect ingredients for a day to remember:  Faith, Food, and Fellowship.

Viva la Life Teen!

The "Depart to the Mountain" Life Teen Lenten retreat was Saturday, March 22.  Fr. Brian J. Wayne,

from St. Joan of Arc Church in Hershey, led 27 teens through the process of meditative prayer.

Through inspiring talks and activites, Fr. Wayne revealed the two things necessary for prayer:  "SILENCE" and "DESIRE".  Fr. Wayne's talks were interactive and the teens were attentive, offering ideas and sharing from their own lives.

The teens enjoyed good food and they played lots of fun games   Most importantly they were offered a variety of ways to grow deeper in their faith and their love for Christ. The day included Confession and Mass and then the teens were able to put what they learned into practice during a Holy Hour in the gym.  We had our very own Life Teen Music Ministry leading us in song, and combined with Fr. Wayne's meditations and periods of silence, the teens - and the CORE Team - were able to experience Christ in a profound way.

Be a part of our "teens only" secure facebook page!  Check out the weekly question.  You can win a prize by being the first teen to answer.  It is set up so that teens can share with each other in a safe environment.  You must request entry by emailing

To see what Life Teen is all about, check out this great video:

Life Teen will meet every Sunday evening except when there's a holiday or special event going on.  Two of the 4 weeks in a month  will focus on catechesis, one week will focus on specific issues, and the 4th week will be a social week.  There is something for everyone.  Games, small group discussions, food, skits, music, activities, and more.  Bring an open mind and an open heart and be ready to learn more about your Faith, your friends, and yourself.  All high school teens are invited.  contact if you have any questions.
